- IF TRUMP WANTS TO COME ACROSS AS AN ANGRY, DOMINEERING LUNATIC, DON’T STAND IN THE WAY: A certain number of jabs about the criminal conviction are appropriate, but most of the work of controlling Trump’s id should be done by the moderators, who are likely to be friendly.
- EXPOSE TRUMP’S LACK OF FLUENCY, OR EVEN INTEREST, IN MATTERS OF POLICY: The moderators should help with this, too. Trump is highly likely to ignore policy questions and to go on rants about the Biden crime family and his own martyrdom. Biden needs to show himself as the adult in the room who cares more about the welfare of the American people than his own grievances and has plausible answers to policy questions.
