Given that masks help keep the virus under control and thus boost consumer confidence, you might well wonder why the man on golf cart refused to wear one. The answer is simple: being an angry, tough-talking, swaggering man is the core of his political identity, and unless you’re a comic book superhero, you can’t swagger in a mask.
