October in the NC mountains can be a tease. We lost a lot of leaves during Helene, but plenty remain, and they’re dazzling. The view is spectacular. In addition, it is supposed to be comfortably warm next week. It makes me want to stay, as it always does.
But we’ve been living without running water for a week, which is every bit as much fun as you would think. It snowed a few days ago, and it is even colder today. As a result, this year, the shoe is on the other foot. I can’t wait to get back to Florida.
One other thing–I have to live with DeSantis in Florida, but at least I won’t have Mark Robinson on my screen every day.
